How it works

You press one button and talk to someone nearby. Photos and profiles come after the conversation. We aim for your first call within about four minutes of signing up, and how fast it really is depends on who's around.

  1. Sign in

Use a code sent to your phone or email, or sign in with Apple or Google. There's no password.

  2. Confirm you're an adult

A quick selfie estimates your age, and we don't keep the photo. If the selfie isn't enough, you scan an ID instead, which takes about a minute.

  3. Say where you are

Allow your location or pick a city, so we can match you with people near you.

  4. Fill in the minimum

A name people will see (we suggest one, and you can change it), who you are, who you'd like to meet, and how far to look. It starts at 25 miles.

  5. Check your camera

You see yourself and your mic level first. Nothing starts until you press I'm ready, and you can leave with one tap at any point.

  6. Wait a moment

A quiet ring and the words Looking nearby. We only show how many people are online when the number is real, and when it's quiet we say so and look a bit wider.

  7. Talk

Their video fills the screen and yours sits small in a corner. A ring around your own preview fills as you both stay. Leave, Next, Mute and Report are always within reach.

  8. Keep in touch, or don't

When the ring is full, a Keep in touch button appears in your own controls and nothing changes on their screen. If you both press it, profiles unlock and a chat opens, and the call can carry on. If only one of you does, nobody is told, and the call goes on until someone leaves.

  9. After the call

You get an optional tap to say how it went, then the button to meet someone else.

What we won't claim

Time spent together is a rough sign that two people both wanted to keep going. It doesn't measure chemistry, interest or compatibility, and we won't say it does. Matching is private, so you never see what the other person chose. Our checks and moderation lower the risk of a bad call without removing it, which is why we say we check and never that we guarantee. The safety page has the details.
